I-84 & US-89 Concept Study

SUE Solution contracted with UDOT Region One and its selected design consultant to perform Subsurface Utility Engineering services for the project of I-84 & US-89 Concept Study, located in Weber and Uintah County, Utah. SUE Solutions provided SUE activities in the form of Quality Level D investigations. This 2.5-mile project is a planning, traffic modeling, and conceptual design project. These Quality Level D activities included the identification of existing utility owners within the project area, the notification of utility companies of the project, the translation and processing of the utility owner’s facility mapping in a CAD platform (Microstation), project field visits to confirm and verify utility features as shown or provided within the provided utility mapping, and the coordination efforts with utility owners as needed to ensure the completeness of the utility mapping translations. SUE Solutions identified eighteen (18) potential utility owners within the project area which encompasses the utility types of culinary and secondary water, intermediate high pressure and high pressure natural gas, telephone, fiber optics, cable television, electric, sewer, and storm drain. Upon completion, SUE Solutions mapped over 30, 600 lineal feet of utilities. The project was completed within budget and ahead of schedule.
