SUE Solutions contracted with UDOT Region One and Morgan County to perform Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services for the Morgan Valley Drive and Old Highway 30 project located in Morgan County, Utah. The SUE scope of work included both SUE Quality Level B designating and Quality Level A locating (test holes). The roadway project is to include minor roadway widening, minor reconstruction, drainage improvements, as well as realignment and safety improvements to an existing intersection in Mountain Green, Utah. CIVCO Engineering (Design Consultant) provided SUE Solutions with various locations where anticipated utility conflicts could occur. SUE Solutions successfully completed twenty-three (23) test holes, gathering critical utility data such as depth, size, material, and existing ground conditions. As part of the SUE Quality Level B activities, over 1,800 lineal feet of utilities were designated due to Blue Stake (One-Call) “mismarks” or failure to mark areas out in time for the Quality Level A test hole process to take place. In addition, SUE Solutions also coordinated their efforts with Utility Owners, Morgan County, and CIVCO survey crews. The SUE activities were completed in December 2012, and despite the severe winter conditions, SUE Solutions completed the project on time and under budget.
