SUE Solutions successfully completed the utility investigations for this UDOT Region One project located in Murray, Utah. SUE Solutions contracted with UDOT and the project’s design consultant to provide subsurface utility engineering in the form of Quality Level D (existing utility mapping research), Quality Level C (sewer and storm drain research), and Quality Level A (test holes). The project consists of rotomilling the existing SR-266 (4500 South) roadway, and reconstructing the existing 500 East intersection to upgrade the existing traffic signal features allowing for safer traffic flow. SUE Solutions researched the existing utility owners (SUE Quality Level D) within the project area and used their existing mapping to provide an account of the affected utilities within the project corridor. Extensive utility coordination with utility owners also took place. Upon completion of the SUE activities, SUE Solutions accounted for approximately 1,460 feet of sewer and storm drain features (Quality Level C), and completed nine (9) test holes at critical locations within the project gathering crucial utility information, vital to the project’s design. Utilities researched and accounted for, as well as potholed included culinary water, natural gas, electrical, phone, fiber optics, CATV, and storm drain. SUE Solutions was able to complete the SUE investigations ahead of schedule and under budget.
